That demo rules. The 80s cheese factor just made my day.
ReplyDelete:D Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI did "compartmentalize" the timbres I created a bit so the wavetable sounds were *only* wavetable sounds, the multi-saw pad *only* a multi-saw pad, etc...
In the Solaris, each patch can be, itself, a massively parallel "multi" including many synthesis methods - it was tempting to make things a bit thick but I worried about "muddying the waters" too much. Since this is the first time I've actually been able to sit down and record it, I did want to keep things relatively simple.
I'm hoping to have enough time to finish a piece I have in-progress showing yet another side of the synth's capabilities.
Too bad half the knobs are contrast controls for the displays. ;) Har har har.
ReplyDeletewow, sounds like plastic.
ReplyDeletenot just any plastic tho -- that expensive 3M kind
tee hee hee
seriously, it's a nice board. will be good to get when its generally available.
not a big fan of the UI tho.
A synth that cost the price of a left nut and it still needs a drumpler on drum duties?? That guy needs to hire William Enroh.
