kawai k1m
ReplyDeleteOf course it's the Kawai K1m, probably one of the most underrated digital synths of all times. I paid $300 for a K1r in 1992, which came with its internal memory completely erased. I had to get the factory patches from a friend via sysex. I had a Casio HT3000 as a controller and I used to sequence it using an old IBM PS/2 with a Music Quest PC Midi card. Those were the times.
ReplyDeleteA couple years ago I picked a K1m from ebay for less than $50. They are pretty easy to find and still cheap. Try getting one along with an external patch editor which allows to randomize patches. You will be surprised by the sounds you can get.
