"i love this song... mostly for the eerie solo in the middle. apparently performed on a heavily modified Clavioline the keyboard player dubbed the "musitron". good name...
unsurprisingly i can't get the sound right for this...probably need to get some effects going on."

that sound is hard to do because legend has it that it was apparently made from multiple takes over dubbed in the studio ...I could be wrong on that... but that's my recollection from some book I read a while back
ReplyDeleteI believe it would be possible to get close by playing your synth through a tube amp
ReplyDeletepart of the ondioline/clavioline sound comes from the fact they're played on an old tube amp (in fact they're very basic waveforms with combinated filters, most used sort of square, except i believe the univox who used sawtooth instead)
