At this year's AES convention, Tom Oberheim, during a seminar with Dave Smith and Roger Linn, announced that he is building a complete replica of the original S.E.M. He said he is sourcing and finding equivelant components to build this synth. Should be a very interesting year for hardware analog synthesizers. Also, Linn flashed a render, for about 3 seconds, of the new look of the Linndrum 2. Looks like it now has a screen ala the Korg Oasys workstation.

ReplyDeleteI don't think thats the latest version of the Linndrum. If you go to the Roger Linn website it says, "Third design, now abandoned in favor of the current design". That picture would correspond to the third design...
