Analog Synth Lab - Moog Minimoog & Roland SH-101

"Analog Synth Lab is only available on Ebay and nowhere else.

What's in the bundle?
* Minimoon (Moog Minimoog Emulator)
* LOL-S ( Roland SH-101

If you can't afford the crazy prices of a real analog synth or you have an interest in synthesizers then the Analog Synth Lab is for you.

Play the synths with your computer keyboard, a midi keyboard or a sequencer (both hardware and software sequencers supported) and tweak the knobs and relish in the sound of analog synthesizers.

If you have no knowledge about synthesizers then don't worry. There are lots of preset sounds so you can get playing straight away. And if you are feeling adventurous then twiddle with any of the knobs to see how it changes the sound.

These synths have been used by just about everyone.
No other software is required to run Analog Synths.

Features
* Can be played with PC Keyboard, MIDI keyboard or MIDI sequencer.
* Modelled on the original hardware"

You can find samples at the auction listing. You can find the seller's Ebay store here.

  2. Hmm... who's going to tell Arturia that someone's using their Minimoog V artwork? They seem to have just airbrushed out the TAE logo and input control and replaced the keyboard.

  4. Pete, I think Arturia might have a hard time demonstrating that they own the copyright on that particular look & feel.

    (On the other hand, I don't know why, but I'm getting a vaguely uneasy feeling about these. What are their provenance? Is it some guy with a copy of SynthEdit/Maker? CPU loads, specs, etc? I can't help thinking we need a bit more info, even about a virtual synth, than what's provided in the listing.)

  5. Judging by the sellers feedback on "evilbay" those who have bought it seem quite happy with it.
    More info and possibly a demo wouldn't go amiss though.
    I've seen and heard much worse soft synths though.

  6. If I'm not mistaken, both of these (possible earlier versions) had been released as freeware a few years ago and again, if memory serves me right; they sounded pretty weak.

  7. Hmm. Found the MemoryMoon and Messiah, developed by one Gunnar Ekornås, who has also released the freebie MiniMogue VA and MiniMogue LUXUS plugins - so if I had to speculate, I'd suggest that MiniMoon was an older version of those (I'd point to the download site, but unfortunately home.no seems to have gone away) and the eBay seller is exploiting buyers' ignorance (unless the seller is Mr Ekornås, but somehow I doubt it).

  8. So...I took the plunge and bought it.

    I haven't had chance to mess around with it in depth yet but it doesn't sound bad at all. Me like!

    I don't think they're synthedit synths either, the graphics don't look like the awful graphics that most synthedit made synths have and as far as I'm aware synthedit synths are vst only and these synths are standalone. I could be wrong though???

    I'm going to have a look for that minimogue va plugin you mentioned and do a possible A/B test to see if they sound alike.

    Anyway I'll try and post some mp3's when I've got time.

  9. Gwenhwyfaer, I'm not saying Arturia own the copyright on the Minimoog shape in general - but they certainly do own the copyright for their own art assets! If it was new art I wouldn't care, but these clearly use the Minimoog V's GUI with bits like the TAE logo painted out. It's pretty simple to extract the graphics resources from the VST dll.
