Wow!
ReplyDeleteI have the YesSongs movie on VHS. What an amazing moment in time in which those guys existed and prospered.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Rick Wakeman album is "Journey to the Center of the Cape of Liberace".
ReplyDeleteCapes should be mandatory for any live keyboardist.
ReplyDeleteI agree that capes are a must for the keyboardist. Witness the concert sequence of the film School of Rock.
ReplyDeleteMy band once did a show in which all five members wore capes and fake mustaches. The drummer took off his cape because he got too warm.
here's a video
I saw MGMT on Late Night With Conan and they all had capes. I realized then that the circle is unbroken, the snake eats its tail. Edgar Winter had capes, eyeliner, and keytar way back in the 1970s. And, of course, Liberace could rock a cape, as andrew notes above. Don't know if Lib ever rocked a keytar.
