Anyone have more info on what I'm guessing are the Seq & Terminals behind him?

That huge box behind Froese is the custom built sequencer they used on the Logos tour (however it is rumoured that they were not actually using them as much of the show was played from tapes). There was an interview with the band after the show in Budapest, in which Froese says: "the custom built sequencer panel behind me can store CV events, triggers in 1068 steps.") The same panel could be seen behind Schmoelling as well during the Logos concerts. I have no idea about the manufacturer though.
ReplyDeleteThe two terminals and qwerty keyboards look like the ones used in the PPG 340/380 system.
ReplyDeleteYes the leftmost screens and computerkeyboards are the PPG Wavecomputer system 340/380.
ReplyDeleteI believe thats an OB-X, not an Xa.
ReplyDeleteAs has been said,
ReplyDeletePPG 340/380 system on the left handside (one monitor on top of the other).
Also, to the best of myknowledge, the 'rack' behind him contains customer sequencers that were built for TD by Wolfgang Palm, of PPG.
What intrigues me the most is, there are only 3 sound generation units there. The Oberheim, the wave 2.0 and the 340/380 system. None of which are multi-timbral. So *WHERE* are all the sounds coming from?
Paul
The 340/380 is multitimbral ( sort of )but this is playback :)
ReplyDeleteThe sequencers were not made by Wolfgang Palm but by Helmuth Grothe.
WT
the Helmut Grothe sequencers were 2/3rds functional. Info direct from Chris Franke hours before the Logos concert at the Dominion
