"We had a chance to audition the John Bowen Synth Design Solaris, and we took it at WInter NAMM 2009. This highly-tweakable, digitally controlled synth might be a bit intimidating upon first encounter, but had the perfect guide to show us the ropes: John Bowen himself!"

  1. "digitally controlled analog synth"

    gearwire for the win.
perhaps they were tricked by the realism of the minimoog sound - polyphonic!

  2. these guys are so retarded, they manage to make crucial mistakes without even speaking.

  3. I am beginning to think that Gearwire is actually on an intentional campaign to spread confusion and misinformation about synthesizers. How else could they get so much so wrong so often, despite claiming to be into this stuff?

    Solaris is cool though.

  4. Caught it! Thanks guys. I shot the video, but the copy was written by one of our writers, who happens to be a guitarist. I did not catch it until I saw the video on youtube. These things occasionally happen, so I appreciate you pointing it out. and nonymous...what's with the polyphonic minimoog comment?

  5. I should have read the description. I just removed the "analog" from it to not mislead anyone. As for "former plugin" that might be a little misleading as well. A lot of the models do come from prior plugins, but there is quite a bit that is new and not previously in any plug-in.

  6. That's true as well, although that was the initial seed for the project. I think keeping it as virtual modular synth is the best way to go. Thanks!
