"Here's a picture of my "new" Steim cracklebox... This is unit 70 of 500 produced in a third run from STEIM dated 2005.
The build quality is much better than I expected, it has a finger jointed wooden box and a hinged top - cool
I'm gonna mic it so I can sample it and run it through some effects."

To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.

I've build one myself some years ago, bought a pcb+components kit from a guy that used to be affiliated with/work for Steim.
ReplyDeleteMine is in an empty VHS movie box and has thumbtacks for contact points :)
I'll undust it soon again, see if it still works. Cool little toys. When properly amplified possibly more annoying than a crying baby.
Thanks for reminding!
