No ladder filters in the black Odysseys that I've ever found. However, I had one of each (white, black, orange panels) and the orange one sounded best, and the white the weakest. Everyone agreed who heard them, and they were calibrated and in spec. I believe with almost all ARP synths (as opposed to every other company) that the later models sound far better than the early ones. The opposite of Oberheim, Moog, etc.
ReplyDeleteI have a black odyssey and it has a second filter fitted (at the factory apparantly) and it really sounds great.
ReplyDeleteLater sound better IMHO too in the standard versions. The ARP filters are superb for percussive sounds...
The 2600 in the Black and Orang version is my favortite. I went through a few before I ended up with the one I have now.
