11hz Robot - Alesis Micron Album

via 11hz Robot who brought us this video.
"These tracks were an exercise in using one synthesizer as a random noise generator. The synth used was the Alesis Micron which has a modulation matrix and the ability to generate random values that can then be used to modulate different parameters. In the process of creating the patches I found a way to consistently freeze the machine. When it freezes up the generation of sound is completely out of my control, but it continues to evolve in interesting ways on its own...which is kind of fun. The synth froze during the recording of a few of these tracks, but I continued recording for a while before fading the songs out. Each track was recorded live in one take with the Micron as the only sound source. stream and download the the tracks at: http://11hzrobot.muxtape.com/"
