via Todd Sines on AH:
"so I'm doing a run of these t-shirts
[kinda like the Roots shirt here]

If you're interested, let me know and I will start to gather an order..
You can email your SHIRT ORDER TO
shirts at scale.gs
In the subject, write the following:
AH T-SHIRT ORDER
in the body write the following
[SIZE] / [MALE or FEMALE cut] / QUANTITY [x]
like this:
L / M / 2
S / F / 1
would equal
2 large male shirts
1 small female shirt
Prices will be $22 shipped within the 48 continental and approximately another $6 per shirt sent overseas.
Payment will be via Paypal only, and you will receive an invoice after you've submitted your order.
The whole process of placing your order, gathering the final count, sending invoices, receiving payment, sending the artwork, getting the shirts made [having a local t-shirt house do the actual screening], filling the envelopes, applying postage and getting them in the post will probably be 45-60 days. So if you're in a hurry, go solder your own. :)
Thanks,

Update: new design
Update via sines in the comments: "okay, everyone who's debating this ...
I am going with the original design, with slightly smaller commas and NO ampersands, despite the original. I tried it that way before and it just looked weird.
That's it.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteWhat about Theremin? I think you missed him.
Thanks.
That would be Léon to be consistent or Lev? for Lev Sergeyevich Termen Sergeyevich Termen. He might be sticking to synthesisers though. There's Raymond Scott as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not sure Bode is quite in the same leaque as some of the others?
ReplyDeleteHow about Nyle Steiner? Not a huge volume, but his wind controllers and filter have certainly endured.
ReplyDelete"And I'm not sure Bode is quite in the same leaque as some of the others?"
ReplyDeletei would have to disagree. in addition to being a pioneer he made some of of the most outside of the box effects processors.
plus, the vocoder (as much as i sorta dislike it)
Sorry - I looked up Bode - I wasn't aware of his complete history. I stand corrected.
ReplyDeleteHe posts his design to Analogue Heaven. Everyone bitches because their favorite obscure synth designer isn't on it. He adds so many names that even an analog synth fan couldn't figure out what the shirt is supposed to mean. I hope he isn't planning on selling a lot of these.
ReplyDeleteTHE FIRST ONE WAS BETTER.
ReplyDeleteSorry for screaming.
But the 'Bob, Don, Alan..' bit on the first one really brought a smile to my face... and really makes it clear. This second, 'design by committee, of a committee,' really loses the point.
Hey,
ReplyDeleteIt is a good idea and you can sell it to a niche group of people. Bravo on the energy and effort to do it!
You know the expression "too many cooks spoil the broth"?
ReplyDeleteYou can't claim everyone is a great, or nobody is a great. The original was pushing it. The new one is ridiculous. It should <10 names; ideally 5-7. I'm stating this purely from a design/concept aesthetic.
As someone with a medium-level of synth knowledge, it's my impression EMS, Synton, PPG and even Roger Linn haven't had nearly the impact of some of the others here...if you're going for most influential. If you're going for inventiveness, cut it a different way. Either way, I recommend cutting the list way down.
also, isn't the design supposed to be a parody of this:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.experimentaljetset.nl/archive/t-shirtism.html
and thus should be & not , after each name?
Yup. The first design is cool. The second is a phone book.

ReplyDeleteemailed him several times...even asking my money back....not a single reply...try to send a complain to paypal too...
ReplyDeleteI've lost my patience with this douche...better not cross my path...patience has limit, he just took the money and not responding any email....
ReplyDeleteMarco, you were emailed within a day. And offered a refund if you can't wait.
ReplyDeleteTodd, the posts were made before I sent the email and you replied and we sorted things out.
ReplyDeleteI was having a bad day and apologize me for the language used....
Thanks
