Korg MS Series - Uptime probability

YouTube via Newueel
"A pretty complex setup with 3 analogue synthesizers and an analogue sequencer.

The SQ-10 plays an 8 step loop, controlling all the synthesizers in some way.

The MS-50 plays the kick drum and has 2 different trigger sources: SQ-10 channel B output and the SQ-10 multiple trigger output. They are combined using the adding amplifier which is useful for adding fills.

The MS-20 on the left is playing a bass sound, only triggered once each 32 steps and has a long envelope. Both filters are controlled by EG2 and SQ-10 channel A.

The MS-20 on the right plays a very quick (8 step) melody. It has a very special patch which allows you to control the probability with which a step is being played. The probability can be set from 0% to 100% using the MG pulse width knob. This makes it possible to skip sequencer steps at random which makes the patterns much more interesting. (I'll explain the probability feature another time.) Both MS-20's use a BPM delay.

Enjoy!"
