"I found my old tape of Men without hats and love their "Rhythm of youth" album. I love the symbiosis of guitar and synths and this one is spotting not only a No. 1 Hit but also 3 P5s and one P2000."

And of course the original

I owned it. :) Cool to see the synths used on this one.

Update: one more via Mr in the comments:

Men Without Hats - Live Hats - 04.Antarctica

Anyone ID the synth at 1:50.

Update via D in the comments: "Keys used in this concert were 3 Prophet 5s, an Ensoniq Mirage, a Yamaha CP-70 and a Moog Source. Mostly Yamaha CXX and Prophets were used on the studio album."

  1. I'm pretty sure that sampler is a Mirage.

  2. I believe the singer is now a professor at McGill!

this DVD is really good...here is "antartica" one of my favorites. you can see the sampler a little better...i'm not sure it's a mirage now..but i still dont think it's a P2000...the silkscreen seems different on this than on a P2000.

  4. also i hope everyone sees the irony, that in "antartica" the mystery sampler is playing a stock P5 preset sound.
