Finally we know what those sequencer looking things are. They appear to be some sort of preset patching system. Check out the mechanical nature of it.

Pretty awesome stuff... they have a mechanical stuff that goes around where he writes symbols that symbolize different instruments so that he can easily pick his favorite sound.
