SCI Prophet-600 Analog Synthesizer
YouTube via retrosound72
"vintage synth demo by RetroSound
Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 Analog Synthesizer (1982), the first synth with Midi;
the demo shows the different sound settings (VCO, VCF, Sync, Filter-FM) and some self-made retro sounds
For me one of the most underrated analog synths ever. The sound is fantastic, a bit different to the big brother Prophet-5."

YES! The only analog synth I own! apart from the Gakken sx-150
ReplyDeleteThis is on my list of (one of many)synths to buy when I get a nice paying job.
ReplyDeleteI have one too, really under-rated for sure. I can't understand why they're not more popular, yeah the stepping when you twist a knob and the slow envelopes but you work round it. Instead of complaining it's not a P5 or pointing out the weaknesses if you concentrate on the sound this is a lovely rich organic analog synth that is capable of a broad range of sounds.
ReplyDeleteThe Prophet-5 steps too.
