How to make Techno music on 1994

YouTube via SatStorm — June 26, 2008 — "Back in 1994 creating Techno Music, was much more complicated than today! In this rare interview, we see some well known German music producers, do their magic! Europeans, that is our story: Don't forget it!"
Some synth spotting.

  1. While that was partially hilarious, there is an excellent line in there about needing to separate out what the important parts of a song are. "The work of production is really reduction."

  2. Great video!

I have one track up which I did in 1994. This is the 2009 remix!

The original track was made with Atari, Cubase, DR660, TX81Z, K4, Bit 01 and more gizmos I can't remember :)

  3. pretty cool.
I used to do the same thing, get the groove going with kick hats and load up and highpass some random rhythm sample from one of those first sample cd's like Ecstatic Goldmine, then add a bassline and a melody...compose with the atari 1040ST.
