"-one OBX synthsizer
-two "OBX Factory Patches" cassettes dated to 10/80 and 12/79
-a stack of paperwork:1979 OBX manual, 1981 OBXa manual, documentation of the mods, service receipts, and a stack of schematics/repair documents
It has some mods/upgrades that were professionally installed long ago (back when they were new and state of the art):
-JL Cooper Patch 96 memory upgrade (all patches work, some are factory, some are not)
Unit has all eight voices installed!"
inside an OB-Xa
Now we're talking. $3k asking price for a serviced, working OB-X. This is one that could get snapped up by a collector, a working musician, or just an old fogey like me who works a day job but remembers these old contraptions. You could even justify taking this to select gigs, unlike the $9k Synthi above. The Synthi is a rare synth in excellent condition and can justify a high price, but at that price, it probably shouldn't leave the studio.
