"extremely rare Rev 2 Prophet 5. According to the SC Serial number log only 1117 of the Rev 2 model were ever released to the public. It is anybody's guess as to how many survived. Anyone who is familiar with P5 history knows that the Rev 1 was quickly (183 were made) replaced by the Rev 2. The Rev 2 had the highly sought after, but somewhat unstable (whatcha gonna do) SSM Chips. The Rev 3 moved to the more stable, but less organic sounding Curtis chips.

The serial number is in the 700's and is a non-MIDI conversion. When we were having this unit fully gone over by Wine Country Productions, probably the best SC repair facility in the world, we had some options, but we decided to keep this as original as possible. Because of that we did not replace the nicked wood pieces, nor did we add MIDI. We did replace two pots and two knobs, but they were replaced with original pieces WCP had in stock. Four IC's and sockets were replaced along with one SSM chip. The key stops were not replaced because the key board bed is stable and plays great. The original factory patches were loaded in. After this was done the unit was "burned in", left turned on, for seventy two hours to make sure it was stable and no other problems would crop up. None did."
