Kawai K3m synth realtime tweaking and 'Viscand 18' drumbox (DIY CR-78-clone)

YouTube via stereoping | October 02, 2010

"Sweet 2-hour-production with realtime tweaking of the Kawai K3-Synth through my DIY-hardwareprogrammer. It shows some of the K3ms features and sound capabilities. The programmer was made out of an old keyfax phatboy. I spent it a new brain which now is clever enough to send sysex-data which change the parameters of the k3 synth.
The colorcoded parameters on the front are selected through a triple-way-switch (backside, upper right) which also sets the color of the upper left bicolor-led to green, orange or red. No external FX, Fruity Loops project. Drums are from my DIY-CR78-Clone 'Viscand 18'."

  1. Found this while searching info about DIY hardware MIDI programmers.. .
Having idea of creating dedicated HW programmer for TG-77.
It would be HUGE, i know. :D

Might not be wise to spend that much effort and time to it, though.

    1. You might want to try Behringer BCR2000. These have plenty of knobs and buttons and the controls for each device may be spread over several consecutive presets. I use one for the Kawai K3m and the Yamaha TX7.
