November Acid Pattern

via dyLAB:

"The acid pattern group is rocking along and we have a new pattern for November courtesy of Melbourne's Acid Jacks

Lets make some acid

Each month one of the group members submits a tb303 pattern for everyone to load into their 303, x0xb0x's or soft synths to make some acid

The November Acid Pattern is from Melbourne's Acid Jacks
Acid Jacks - Sweet November Acid Rain by Acid Jacks

You can grab the pattern data from here [top pic]

The pattern can then be programmed into your tb303 or x0x box to create a new track. The pattern could be programmed into your vst such as ABL or Phoscoyn to create a new track. Transcribe the pattern to midi and send it to your favourite synth to create a new track. Grab the audio file and rework the audio into a new track

Then post your finished track or jam into the acid pattern group http://soundcloud.com/groups/the-acid-question

You can grab this empty pattern sheet from here [left pic]

cheers

  1. Can someone tell me what the "O"s, "•", and "-"s mean? can't figure it out.

  2. Why would everyone want to play the same bass line? I don't understand the point of this. Is it a contest to see who can make the dopest song with the same line?

  3. I think that is the point. It could be a fun idea, I think.

  4. Cool, but strange. We are supposed to be making music, not just "producing" it. We are not robots!

  7. the point of the group was a bit of fun - to take a pattern and jam it around and all do something different with essentially the same thing - no reason you cant chop / sample / loop it and fuck it all up
and no its not a contest

check the group discussion for previous months patterns and versions

  8. each step is 1/16th
    filled circle is a note
    U means transpose Up
    D means transpose Down
    A means accent
    S means slide

and these can be combined such as AS accent & slide

hope that helps and happy acid making

  9. Thanks dyLAB, but I still don't understand what the circle means. "•" means note, "-" means rest, but what does the unfilled-circle mean? Couldn't find on the page you linked.

  10. the unfilled circle is a tie note -
so if you want 1 note on the tb303 to last 16 steps you would use the time button and set the first note to the filled circle and the other 15 to tie notes
