Synthfest@Maker Faire 2011 / March 12-13 2011

"The Centre for Life in Newcastle (http://www.life.org.uk) is hosting the Maker Faire in 2011. Maker Faire,
which takes place over the weekend of March 12-13, is an event created by
Make Magazine to celebrate arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and
the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset.

In the past, there have been one or two projects involving electronic music
and synth DIY though they've been few and far between. However, next year's
event will have a very strong synth DIY flavour and Saturday 12th March has
been designated "SynthFest Day". We're now recruiting artists and companies
who would like to get involved.

Contributors are invited to bring along DIY instruments for the public to
see and use. We're also looking at setting up a performance area so that
artists can either perform a small concert or participate in a collaborative
jam.

My understanding is that contributors don't pay to hire space and they are
able to sell merchandise i.e. instruments, CD, DVDs etc.

The event should be a terrific showcase and, with the backing of Life, the
promotional opportunities should be superb. If successful, there is the
possibility that this could become an annual event.

We'd love to have you involved so please register your interest at :
www.MakerFaireUK.com

The deadline for applications is 26th November 2010.

Best regards
