"Announcing a very exciting update for the Wavemakers web site. For the first time ever, photos of Dr. Terry Kincaid with his Wavemakers instruments in the 1970s, including an early prototype."
You can find the pics and history on the rare Wavemakers synthesizer on the Wavemakers history page.
"Terry Kincaid has been described as a unique individual and a genius by people who knew him well. Though his degrees were in music, he taught himself electronics well enough to make synthesizers that were competitive with contemporaries such as Moog and Arp. Terry even taught himself German so he could converse with German customers. In his later years he built computers from scratch. What Terry may have lacked was marketing and business sense, selling his synthesizers for little more than they cost in parts, and with little margin to pay for his labors."
Be sure to see the rest of the Wavemakers site as well if you haven't already. It's a fascinating bit of synth history.
