A buddy of mine brought another PolySix by the shop today to have the ORIGINAL memory battery replaced -- it had been in continuous service since the synth was newly minted in 1981. 30 year-old NiCad battery still going strong; It measured 4.02 volts when it was replaced today, strictly as a measure of precaution.
While the battery was still in great shape, there were some signs of the beginning of leakage on the negative terminal, but only if you knew what you were looking for.
Dated receipt in the photo to show when the battery was replaced.
We're thinking of submitting the battery to the Smithsonian or Ripley's..."
