I'm finally getting around to checking this synth out. You might remember it from
this previous post. As you can tell from the video above, it's a spectral formant synthesizer and vocoder which produces vocal like synthetic sounds. It comes with 92 preset sounds, you can process incoming audio, and you can import your own samples. Note you can play it like a stand alone synth vs just processing vocals and audio as in the two videos in this post. What's interesting is you can import clips of music, rhythms, etc, so you can get some interesting patterns going vs. your standard ADSR shaped sounds. You can adjust the start and end times of the formant sample/loop, and there is a multi-touch pad for controlling the 11 independent filters (check out the first video in
the previous post). Everything does have that formant vocal sound to it, but that's the point. See the screens in the prior post to get an idea of the parameters available for editing. Also worth noting is the alternate keyboard layouts and scaling as pictured above.
