ReplyDeletei need someone to tell me the part number of the transistor top right of the first picture. it is the black one. i cant find a service manual and mine is burned. bought the synth like this and has no sound.
ReplyDeleteChecking on the Waldorf list. One word of caution came in: "Can't make it out from the pic, but that side is traditionally the power supply side of Waldorf stuff. Nice heatsink on it.. Possibly a voltage regulator (I know the two large heatsinked ones are) If it's burned, there's a reason it's burned. Replacing it could harm the rest of the board even more if he doesn't find the reason it burned in the first place.

There is a service manual with schematics, but it refers to rev 3.2. Th532ere are quite a lot of revisions. Major changes like 56303 66mhz vs 56303 80mhz in later versions - that has an impact on the voice expansion. Also nicer emphasis circuit on mid-revs and philips ne5532 vs texas ne5532. Roms can fail... but you can program new ones - check upper 88c4 and lower 4ace.
