Resonator Neuronium by Katavist

Resonator Neuronium 1 - Summing Node from Katavist on Vimeo.

"This is the first in a series of Resonator Neuronium-demos attempting to debunk some erroneous assumptions about this machine, such as the one that it only spits out uncontrollable noise and can't be used/played as an instrument. Admittedly there's always some trial and error involved, and the machine definitely has its own will - but isn't that charming?

The only sound source in these videos is the Resonator Neuronium (with additional external effects).

Haters will hate, lovers will love."

Resonator Neuronium 2 - Buchla Thunder from Katavist on Vimeo.

"In this second video I play the RN by hand, using the Buchla Thunder MIDI controller."

Resonator Neuronium 3 - Mutations 1 from Katavist on Vimeo.

"Number three. Here mutations happen automatically, not forced by touching and tweaking knobs, and bring about (more or less subtle) changes in sound."

Resonator Neuronium 4 - Noisering Melodies from Katavist on Vimeo.

"In this fourth clip the RN is controlled by the Malekko Wiard Noisering module (via Analogue Systems RS-300 CV/MIDI converter)."

Update:

Resonator Neuronium 5 - One long session (Mutations 2) from Katavist on Vimeo.

Nr.5 is just one long unedited session. An example for transforming a static pattern through careful inducing of mutations. Again, notes were triggered from the modular."
