Sequential Circuits MAX

via this auction
"If you not familiar with this (they are very rare), it’s very similar to the Sequential Circuits Six-Trak. The circuitry and sound quality is the same, so it’s actually a very powerful synth.

Sequential released this MIDI-capable analog synth in 1984. It has six voices and the usual saw, triangle, pulse and noise waveforms. It has a standard low pass filter that can self resonate if desired. It has three envelope generators (which is a great feature for a synth from this era) and an LFO. It has a basic sequencer too for each voice. It was intended as a computer-based studio version of the Six-Trak but wasn’t popular in its day as unlike today not many people had a computer-based studio.

Programming Sounds:
Simply use Mark of the Unicorn's Unisyn or similar software on the Mac or PC. You can edit your sounds via the computer and you basically have yourself a Six-Trak but for a lot less money. If you already own a Six-Trak then it’s just as easy….you can program your sounds on the Six-Trak and your work gets transferred to the MAX down a midi cable."
