"I wanted to write in again and show off the custom Slim Phatty I just built. The Little Phatty is great, but I wanted to build a tiny bass/lead synth. Nearly the same process as before.. Slim Phatty is the brains, an Alesis Q25 is the controller. The Q25 is hardwired for power into the Slim Phatty because I didn't want two power cords to worry about (totally nerve wracking to open it up and start soldering, huge thanks to Rosser at Moog Music for some quick pointers). I don't mind having the MIDI cable linking the two, so I didn't hardwire it. It's currently built out of Birch plywood and painted weird, but I'd like to rebuild it out of walnut whenever I get around to it. I'm considering making a built-to-order kit where you would just supply your own Phatty, but I'm trying to gauge interest first. Hi, I've planned slightly the same project. I would be glad to have some informations about the combined power between the Little Phatty and the midi keyboard, an Alesis Q25 as well.

Hey! This is Jason. I powered the Q25 using a USB cable and a little Apple iPhone power brick. The power brick is wired internally through the SP, so that it gets power from the cable plugged into the SP. It might be the least elegant solution ever, but it worked and still works!

If I've understood, you use an old iphone power brick (iphone charger in the table https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3511) and directly plug it to the slim phatty ? I think it need to be soldered ? Have you some picture to show ? And then you use the usb cable to plug the brick to the usb input of the Q25. Am I right?
