DSI Evolver Signal Path Tattoo
This one in via c3400 of vircon
"I really wanted a music related tattoo, but I was not happy with getting an instrument or a band, and then I thought the signal flow of my favorite synth would have to be my next tattoo, my band (vircon) owns a total of three evolvers and I simply cannot write music without my evolver. Prior to getting the keyboard I always had a bit of trouble understanding the signal flow on the desktop version, so this was a constant reference image I used when programming patches. The evolver is more a part of me than any other material possession I own, it just made sense. I got it done at Royalty Tattoo in Northport by Amalia, she was maniacal with the placement, the technique and her ability to do these lines straight and parallel. There is absolutely nothing better then working with a perfectionist when getting something that lasts a lifetime.

That's cool. I was thinking about getting something made up of analog waveforms (tri, square, saw, sine).
ReplyDeleteI bet the designer of that diagram never thought that would end getting tattooed on someone! If so, he may have jazzed it up a bit...
Thanks! I thought a lot about doing a similar tattoo as well, but now I have been thinking about doing a wrap around of FM permutations in a unbroken wave, but have not settled on a design yet, or if I really want it.
DeleteOoh, that's going to look pretty silly when you decide to break up with your current band and start playing the banjo or lute. Go with the lute, actually.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it Dave Smith is working on an evolver lute anyway so it should not be a problem
DeleteI love how sharp and symmetrical it looks. I also love how it's metaphorical to blood going through veins - the signal path of sound.
ReplyDeleteThanks again! Unfortunately you cant tell that well in the photo from my phone but the feedback lines run right next to my veins its a perfect placement, and the FB2 arrow points directly to a major vein in my arm.
