The Arturia Origin is much more than a bunch of plug-ins in a box -- as a virtual modular synth, it allows creative programming using various modules (oscillators, filters, envelopes, etc.) modeled after famous synthesizers like the Roland Jupiter 8, ARP 2600, Yamaha CS-80, Oberheim SEM, Sequential Circuits Prophet VS, Moog Minimoog and others. These modules can be combined to make unique synthesizers that represent the best elements of the all time analog classics. The Origin also comes with pre-built templates (full emulations) of the Minimoog, Jupiter 8 and CS-80 to get started quickly. The Origin is easy to program because all the realtime controls are laid out so well, but it's also a very deep synthesizer with 3 full sequencers, 4 effects busses and the ability to layer several sounds for large, complex patches.
