Earonator modulates Korg Ms10 - rather evil :)

Published on Mar 29, 2013

"Thanks to Matrixsynth [this post] for suggesting this.

This video shows the output of the Earonator modulating various parts of the Korg Ms10, including oscillator pitch, filter cutoff and pulse width. It is also used a a source for the external audio in.

The Earonator generates 2 light controlled square wave internally which can either be output separately or set to modulate each other. So 2 parameters can be modulated at the same time, either from separate sources or a mixed mono ring modulator like source (a diode OR gate). The square waves DC offset is removed before reaching the output (due to being designed to work with headphones) so the resultant modulation sounds more like a bipolar saw wave than a square. It oscillates at around -4.5v to 4.5v.

It sounds as smooth as tarmac at 90mph.

The Earonator can also be used on its own with headphones. For more about the Earonator see this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKbMm8... [posted here]
