A little bit ago my Waldorf XTk bit the dust. After some research on the Waldorf User list and forums I thought the problem might be with a faulty power supply. The XTk uses a line-lump supply mounted inside its case. It's very similar to a standard laptop power adapter. Well, unfortunately, in my case it turned out to be fine which meant the problem was further up the chain. I was a bit worried the synth was fried. Fortunately I'm friends with Scott Rise of
Divsion 6. He took a look, found the problem and sure enough fixed it. Thank you Scott! It turned out to be the transient voltage suppressor diode the green arrow is pointing to in the image. Scott replaced it and the XTk fired right up. You can find the details on the fix on his
MODD3D site here.
Now it should be read for next
Halloween.
