I thought this was an interesting example of how knobs on the ipad or any multitouch surface can actually be more useful for real time control than physical knobs. You can select multiple knobs to control and move away to a more comfortable position while still controlling them. You can do this on most fixed hardware including controllers for soft synths on a PC.
