Sequetron 13.07 with modular synth, drum machine & supernova

Published on Sep 30, 2013 Phil Tipping·54 videos

"Another quick live lash-up with Sequetron driving a dotcom synth plus drum machine & supernova to provide more 'voices'.
The 1st section shows the Sequetron ports, macros & drum style setup.
The 2nd section overlays live screenshots showing the seqs being recorded & looped in real-time, and the dynamic template/virtual keyboard along the bottom shows how the keys change functionality as notes are pressed on the music keyboard. No mice or qwerty keyboards are used.
View at higher resolution if screenshot writing is fuzzy.

Port 1 goes via Kenton Pro Solo to VCO3, Q107 filter, EG & VCA.
Port 2 goes via Q104 module to VCOs 1 & 2, Q150 filter, EG & VCA.
Port 3 goes to Novation Supernova synth.
Port 4 goes to DRM1 drum machine.

The 3 macros are triggered by 3 of the 5 Korg EC5 foot pedals to switch live output between ports 1, 2 & 3 (could also use normal port commands from the MIDI keyboard, but macros are a new feature!).
The macro definitions are:-
cc12, abs=127, [live] cmd, [command] live, [command] port-n, [digits] 1
cc13, abs=127, [live] cmd, [command] live, [command] port-n, [digits] 2
cc64, abs=127, [live] cmd, [command] live, [command] port-n, [digits] 3

The 'record attrib source' config option is set so that live's current port value is automatically transferred to the recorded sequence(s) when the recording starts.

The drum style used for the metronome is taken from the Drum Machine Patterns books by Rene-Pierre Bardet.
