"Reuniting with an instrument is one beautiful thing.
For a little less than a year, my Oberheim Matrix 6R was “incapacitated”, doing all sorts of crazy things. A couple of weeks ago, I finally found the time to take it to Hernán “The Wizard” Baldi, who returned it in Mint Condition. Anew.
The excitement and emotion of having my Matrix back in my studio was such that I set myself to a “challenge”: composing a track using ONLY the Matrix, programming every sound from an “INIT PATCH” situation.
I then complemented those sounds with the wonderful Eventide Space Reverb, added a little EQ and compression, and after several days of mixing, here’s the result, my first Ambient work of 2014.
