"This is an unmodified Univox K-2 synth circa 1973. Serial #00953. The synth was also sold as the Korg Mini-Korg 2 or the MiniKorg 700S. It is a monophonic analog synth with dual oscillators.It has a great, fat, warm sound.
I won't go into the specifics about this model since I would assume that you already know what it is if you are seriously thinking about bidding on it. Instead, I will describe the specific instrument up for auction.
Everything is original except for the third octave "A" key which was replaced with an "old-new stock" key, the original plywood side panels were replaced with hardwood (Ash) side panels, and the output jacks were replaced as part of a recent servicing.
The keyboard was recently serviced (5/5/14) by synthesizer specialists Sam Mims and Gerald Dentro at Syntaur in New Braunfels, TX. They cleaned all the switches and faders, replaced the output jacks, and gave it a clean bill of health.
Everything functions as it should except that the power light does not light. Since I could not find an original replacement, I left it alone."
