Build your own Workshop Crusher with Tom Bugs. (Manchester UK 25th - 26th October 2014)

You'll find the sign-up info here

"As Part of the Sines & Squares Festival Open-Circuit is pleased to announce the BugBrand Workshop Crusher.

Tom has taken his iconic BugCrusher effect and produced a brand new design that can easily be built by beginners and teaches a lot along the way. Not only will you come away with your own self-contained Analogue Sample-Rate Reducer (with 9V power and 1/4" jack sockets to process your guitar, synths, etc.) but also you'll be introduced to electronic components, soldering techniques and the building-block approaches which feature so heavily in Tom's devices.

The workshop's are taking place at the The Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, University of Manchester, UK on Saturday 25th alongside a day of talks, patch bay sessions and evening concerts of modular synthesis and The Islington Mill on the sunday 26th as part of an open-day featuring demo systems and performances. Suitable for any level of experience from beginners onwards, and any age from 14 (younger if accompanied). Spaces are limited and the ticket price is just £55. All components and tools are provided.

Over the 10 years since starting BugBrand, beginning with the touchy chaos of the Weevils, moving through the development of a whole modular system and continuing today with an array of standalone generators & processors, Tom has shown himself to be one of the most distinct and playful voices in the new wave of analogue audio design.

The kits have been kindly donated by Thonk (Synth DIY kit specialists from Brighton)"
