"Only FOUR of the eight voices work...

Modifications / mods to this OB8 include:

It has a 'security' hook, that was installed near the power supply / AC power cord inlet. You can see it in some of the photos. Back in the day when performing in nightclubs, you had to make sure that nobody grabbed your keyboard and took off running. A lock and chain was attached to the hook to prevent theft. Might come in handy if you were using it in a recording studio you didn't own, and had to leave it unattended for awhile.

The battery mod: Wires have been soldered to where the memory battery is usually soldered on. The original batteries only lasted a few years and were 3 volts. This mod allows you to use whatever type of battery you want, and also in multiples if desired. It currently has two D cell batteries wired in series = 3 volts. They are currently at about 2.7 volts, so I'd change the battery / batteries soon.

I think that the tech that worked on it last installed a Fan option. (I don't remember installing it). But the fan was a bit too noisy for me, so power to the fan has been disconnected. Haven't checked to see if the fan works. The fan is glued to the inside of the case I think.\

The Volume Knob modification. The factory knobs are fine for most things, but I wanted more fine control of the Volume. You'll notice the big knob in the volume location. If you don't like the big non-factory knob, you could purchase a factory knob, they install easily. Don't think I still have the original knob. If I find it, I'll send it along."
