Built in 1983 this was on the same production line as other classic keyboards such as the Korg Poly 6 using similar engines and components, hence the reason this sounds so big and feels, with its metal casing and full size keys, more like a pro synth than personal keyboard.
It does lack editable synthesis but makes up for it with some nice features.
The Mic input is excellent, especially if you put a guitar through it, the pre-amp quality was really impressive and you can add an amazing 80s sheen to it by switching the chorus on.
The auto accompaniment, drums and bass lines all feature faders.
The drums sound great and very different.
The patterns and quality of the auto accompaniment sound different and unique rather than a bit cheesy, making it a really usable keyboard to own."

ReplyDeleteThe keyboard uses a 2764 integrated circuit for coding the keys, this ultra violet erasable programmable Read Only Memory had a life-span of 13 years, is no longer produced, cannot be re-programmed. As a result the keys do not work anymore. Sorry, it was a nice machine.
