"100% perfect and a BEAST of a synth. It can sound like a 3 thousand dollar moog or a 5 thousand dollar oberheim by changing between filters at the press of a button. Pretty easy to use as far as sound design goes with the screen it has. There are no buried submenus and other junk. This is the se-1x not the se-1 so the stepping issues you could hear when rolling off the filter have been fixed between these units perfectly, i know because i used to have a regular se1 prior :)

Voices: One.
Audio Outputs: One
External Inputs: One.
Interface: 1 rotary encoder, 24 knobs, 21 illuminated switches.
Display: 20 x 4 backlit liquid crystal.
Memory: 396 patches in ROM, 396 user locations in RAM.
Weight: 10 lbs.
Dimensions: 3 rack spaces, 8 inches deep.
Power: 90 - 250 volts AC auto switching.

VOICE ARCHITECTURE

VCOs:

Three voltage controlled discrete analog oscillators, triangle, sawtooth and variable width square waveforms. All waveforms output simultaneously. Osc 1 syncs to Osc 2 and 3.

VCFs:

Two voltage controlled discrete analog filters: 24db (classic Moog®), 12db (classic Oberheim®). 12db filter incorporates low pass and band pass modes.

Envelopes:

Four multiple stage envelope generators, attack, decay, sustain and release with inverting and multiple triggering. Envelope 1 fixed to filter frequency. Envelope 2 fixed to amplifier level. Envelopes 3 and 4 are assignable.

LFOs:

Three low frequency oscillators, triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, noise and random waveforms. One destination and amount for each LFO with key trigger, phase and midi sync.

Glide:

Glide and auto glide, linear or exponential.

Additional Features:

Noise generator, hardware ring modulation, external audio input (requires midi trigger to open gate).

Modulation Destinations:

LFOs 1, 2 and 3: VCOs 1, 2 and 3 frequency; VCOs 1, 2 and 3 mix level; VCOs 1, 2 and 3 pulse width; ring mod mix level; noise mix level; VCF resonance; VCF frequency and volume. Envelopes 3 and 4: VCOs 1, 2 and 3 frequency; VCOs 1, 2 and 3 mix level; VCOs 1, 2 and 3 pulse width; ring mod mix level; noise mix level; LFO 1, 2 and 3 rate and depth and VCF resonance.

MIDI Controllers:

Dynamics, modwheel, pressure and breath control: destinations and amounts include all LFO and envelope 3 destinations; bender: pitch and filter frequency; receives program change, bank select, glide on/off, glide time and volume. Fixed continuous controller assignments for all key front panel controls.

MIDI Specifications:

In, out and thru.

FEATURED FUNCTIONS

Multi-filter Powered

Classic Mini, for the greasiest basses and warmest leads and the once upstart Obie, for that 12db boomy boxy reediness ala "Basic Record." Discrete? Yep.

Three Oscillator Core

Three Oscillators with combinable triangle, saw and variable pulse width square waveforms make programming the root of your sound as thick and tight as you need it to be.

U Send Me Smoother

Doubled up front panel resolution (from the SE1) and a clever "smoother" circuit make tweaking pots & throwing around switches a far silkier experience––via MIDI too.

External Audio Input

Process unbalanced signals to balance your creativity. You decide what's crucial. Everything that usually affects the OSCs hugs and shapes your SE-1X's input info."
