"This x0xb0x is not just another MIDI-controlled TB-303 clone like others, this one is a full reproduction of the original Roland synthesizer, with fully functional sequencer and finally with a complete bunch of modifications. This gives you as a result the most versalite and complete x0xb0x ever built.
The sequencer can be programmed just like the original 303 plus the sokkos OS funcionalities, and can be used to control other synthesizers via Midi. 128 banks of track memory and 64 banks of pattern memory are stored in onboard EEPROM, no battery-backup needed.
It comes with a 220v 9v AC adapter and instructions manual.
ADD-ONS
.- SUB-BASS ADD-ON: This switch brings you the possibility to low the tone of the x0xb0x. As a result of this variation you can get deeper and nicer basslines from the synth.
.- ACC-PLUS ADD-ON: This switch increases the overall accent of the synth, obviously this Add-on only affects to the accented notes of the sequencer, the rest will not suffer variation.
.- FILTER LOW-END ADD-ON: This switch modifies the behaviour of the CUTOFF filter capacity, mainly lowering itself almost a degree, close to the minimum, perfect for cutting low frequencies.
.- ENV-MOD ADD-ON: This switch changes the capacity to turn the envelope modulation down, closer to zero.
.- ENV-PLUS ADD-ON: This switch increases the envelope modulation capacity around three times the original ones.
.- TUBE AMP ADD-ON: This Add-on has two different switches. The first ones has two positions that goes from LOW to HIGH. The second ones has three different positions, the A position, the B position and OFF position. The Tube Amp is some kind of tube-valve amplifier effect. It means that the resulting sound will be a little bit attenuated, and also some bass response would be retained, in a similar way as old amps.
TOGGLE ON "A" POSITION: The Add-on type on this is Digital amp alike. It sounds crispier and with a faster response on retained bass.
According to this, there are four different types of effect selectable on Tube Amp: A position on High A position on Low B position on High B position on Low
.- RESONANCE COLOUR ADD-ON: This Add-on is composed on two different modifiers, toggle and potentiometer. The toggle activate or deactivate the Add-on, while the potentiometer controls the quantity of the effect aplied to the sound. It changes the capacity of the resonance filter.
.- DECAY ADD-ON: This potentiometer controls the decay of the voltage control amplifier, increasing or decreasing the fall-off of the overall notes and slides. This Add-on is always activated, so in a middle position the sound would be "original ones" while if it is turned all way down, the sound will be close to zero. !! Check that this potentiometer is not killing the sound notes if you notice that your x0xb0x is not sounding. !!
.- VCO Variation ADD-ON: With this Add-on you would choose between SQUARE or SAW waveform to excite the voltage control oscillator, independently of the waveform selected on the original VCO. (Front panel waveform selector) This means that when selected "SAW" waveform on the original VCO (front panel) we can choose the Saw signal and mix its feedback with the VCO, resulting some kind of supersaw VCO. This works in the same way with the Square signal to create new modulation waves, resulting on a not-exact 303 clone sound but instead a newer sound source is added to our x0xb0x. We can obtain four different modulations: - Original SAW + SAW retrofeedback - Original SAW + SQUARE retrofeedback - Original SQUARE + SAW retrofeedback - Original SQUARE + SQUARE retrofeedback - The potentiometer controlS the quantity of excitation applied on the feedback.
- TOGGLE ON "A" POSITION: Saw wave retrofeedback selected -TOGGLE ON "B" POSITION: Square wave retrofeedback selected -TOGGLE ON "OFF" POSITION: Retrofeedback wave is OFF.
.- VCA VARIATION ADD-ON: This Add-on take the original signal of the VCA to excite the VCO oscillator. In a similar way as the previous (VCO Variation Add-on) but in a simple way. The potentiometer control the overal quantity of the VCA signal feedback mixed.
The behaviour of this potentiometer could be a little different from standard ones as long as it depends on the original configuration from the VCA-VCO, resulting that in certain cases the effect applied won’t be audible till the half turning point of the poten- tiometer.
.- OVERDRIVE ADD-ON: This is a simple but powerful Add-on. Note that the volume could be increased with this Add-on feature too. It excites the amp signal transistors to create an over- drived sound."
