West coast patching: not just for bongos!

Published on Jun 8, 2015 wellurban

"Using a vaguely west coast patch (FM and random sources; no filter) for nasty techno sounds. Dixie II FMs Rubicon, and also hard syncs it; FM index modulated by a quick AD envelope; Rubicon saw into VCA opened by another envelope. Turing machine Voltages go via quantiser to both VCOs; Turing Pulses outs modulate the Turing machine itself (via slew) to occasionally vary the sequence, and the decay of the FM envelope. Finally, an LFO sweeps Rubicon's Exp FM, giving a mix of classic hard sync and twangy FM timbres."
