"I just got Fugue Machine by Aexander Naut so this in my first impression. I dropped some quarter notes in the mix, synced it all up with Patterning and hit play. Wow instant satisfaction. I can see the potential in this cool new app.

It's pretty cool. The main MIDI pattern plays along with 3 more versions (playheads) of that pattern. They can play forwards, backwards, forwards and backwards, and with different rhythmic notation and durations. OH you can also change the pitch and octave of an over all playhead.

FUGUE MACHINE is like “Bach In A Box”. It is a musical tool inspired by composition techniques used in Baroque music and Serialism — e.g. Bach’s canons and fugues, and Schoenberg’s twelve-tone technique. The idea was to design a tool to manipulate a melody’s speed, direction, and pitch, as well as play multiple variations of the melody simultaneously.
