Sequential Circuits Pro-One - Dark and Dirty Analog Demo (Unmodified - NO EFFECTS)

Published on Jun 27, 2015 Sean Craddock

"The Sequential Circuits Pro-One analog synth is an awesome machine, and this one is older than I am (serial #3706). Used for quite a lot of classic stuff from the 80s, it's also capable of belting out some impressively gritty sounds from its dual oscillators.

This demo makes use of two sequences I pre-programmed, the synth allows a step-sequence of up to 40 notes, which you can then play up and down the keyboard. I am using pulse waves only for both VCOs throughout, which are modulated both manually through the PWM knobs and also through the mod wheel on the left which is ALSO controlling the LFO and the main filter envelope, which in turn also affects the waves! This creates absolutely beautiful sweeping complex sounds through even just small movements of the mod wheel.

Apologies for the out of focus video, for whatever reason the camera decided to focus on the spare bed, and I didn't have enough battery left for a retake afterwards! Slight A/V sync issue too annoyingly!"
