"Tangerine Dream 1981 in Concert, Christopher Franke, Edgar Froese, Klaus Schulze, Johannes Schmoelling. AV-Remastered. Legendary Event."

Spot the synths! :) Note the PPG modular. You can see it on the left right after 18:00. PPG 360 A Wave Computer and Wave 2.0 are also featured along with some classics like an SCI Prophet-5 and Roland Jupiter-8. Feel free to call out any others you see in the comments.

  1. At 1:05 - a Jupiter 8's display would light up if it was powered on.

  3. I always had the impression that by this stage most of Tangerine Dream's 'live' stage performances were actually 90 percent recorded playback, with about 10 percent of twiddly bits played live over the top. If you know roughly what each instrument is designed to do, and you look at the supposed performances, the artists' actions seem to have little to do with most of the music coming out. Can't really blame them - reproducing studio recordings live with that sort of equipment would have been impossibly complicated, and is only really possible now when laptop technology has taken over from most of the unreliable hardware.
