"It is the most desirable revision, with the chassis-mounted power transformer and J-wire keyboard. Early (pre-serial 1500) models had the power transformer mounted to the circuit board, eventually it could come loose and swing around the circuit board damaging components. The later (post-serial 8500) had membrane keyboard contacts that are known to become intermittent and difficult or impossible to repair..."
