Experimenting with the VBrazil Systems Modules
Published on Jun 1, 2016 Ícaro Ferre
"My goal for this patch was to try to create an interesting patch using my VBrazil Systems modules (Aether Oscillator, MultiLFO and Lizard 2 mk2) and some Intellijel modules (Triatt, µVCA, and µScale).
While this may not sound extremely musical to some people, this patch can easily be modified to be a lot simpler and 'standard'.
Here's a brief explanation of the patch: Lizard2 is being used as a Sequencer and 8-stage switcher. The sequencer output is being attenuated by the Intellijel Triatt and quantized by the Intellijel µScale mk2.
The sine output of the Aether VCO is going straight into the Intellijel µVCA and the output of the Lizard 2's switcher is patched into the FM input of the Aether. The other outputs of the Aether Oscillator were patched into the 8 inputs of the Lizard 2's switcher.
In order to create an envelope for my synth voice, I'm using the LFO 1 in the MultiLFO module as a simple AR envelope. I've managed to achieve satisfactory results by setting the waveform to SAW, frequency to LOW, and patching the Square output of Lizard 2 into the HSYNC input of the LFO 1 (to trigger the envelope).
The output of the LFO 1 is then patched into the CV input of the µVCA.
LFOs 2 and 3 from the MultiLFO module are also being used to control LFO 1's Frequency / length (via CV Width input) and Phase (shape).
I apologize for the video quality. I had to record it with my iPad so the quality is not amazing.
