Rossum Evolution Filter vs Moog Sub Phatty - A comparison by WMD

Published on Nov 15, 2016 William Mathewson

"In this video, Alex conducts a comparison of the two ladder filters, which when filtering a single saw wave sounds almost identical until it comes to the Q compensation and "species" knobs that are unique to the Evolution.

Alex is a huge fan of the classic Moog sound and was looking to integrate a similar voice into his live performance rig which includes a WMD/SSF Monolith Case. He brought in his Sub Phatty for a fun, semi-clinical comparison and decided to make quick a video so he could share the results with you.

Love Moog bass but want even more phatness with some resonant filtering? This might be the one for you :)

Both synths are recorded directly into the Tascam DR40's external inputs."
