"The G1 is a DSP based virtual analog modular synthesizer. It requries programming via Clavia's editor software, but is fully programmable and very powerful. The editor requires a PC running Windows 95 up to XP, or a Mac running OS 9 up to the latest version of MAC OS. The voice architecture of this synthesizer depends completely on how it is programmed and can configured to be anything from a complex monophonic synth, to a 32 voice poly synth, and anywhre in-between."
So, did the G1 name come only after the G2 was released? If not, then G1 is a user created name.
